What is GSYP
GSYP is the Garden State Young People’s Conference Committee of Alcoholics Anonymous. GSYP’s primary purpose is to bring the A.A. message to the recovering alcoholic at its annual closed conference. GSYP is part of A.A.’s Area 44 General Service Structure and of Intergroup of Northern New Jersey

GSYP helps defray the cost of its conference by holding dances and other events, which are open to anyone looking for sober fun.  Donations also go toward full and partial conference fees of some alcoholics in need. Preceding every GSYP event is an open A.A. meeting, where speakers share their experience, strength and hope.

GSYP believes that recovery is best pursued by those who follow the twelve steps of Alcoholics Anonymous, and these twelve suggestions are emphasized at all events.  GSYP follows the A.A. tradition, which states, “the only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking.”

GSYP was founded in 1982 by young alcoholics who saw a need to extend the hand of fellowship to other young alcoholics in need of A.A.’s message.  GSYP however, welcomes ALL alcoholics believing that

“young” is anyone who has growing to do!
